Dr Alexander GomesDr. Alexander Gomes, is a Board Certified, dedicated Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon committed to patient care in Newport, Rhode Island.

Originally hailing from central Connecticut, Dr. Gomes’s academic journey began at the University of Connecticut, where he earned a degree in Biology. His path then led to Tufts University School of Dental Medicine, where he attained his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree with honors and was inducted into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon National Honor Society.

Further shaping his expertise, Dr. Gomes completed a comprehensive residency at the well-regarded MedStar Washington Hospital Center in Washington, DC. During this period, he received extensive training across a spectrum of oral and facial surgical procedures, including dentoalveolar and pre-prosthetic surgery, oral pathology, orthognathic surgery, and complex facial trauma management. He also obtained comprehensive training in general anesthesia and IV sedation techniques.

Noteworthy for his compassionate approach, Dr. Gomes takes pride in thoroughly explaining procedures to his patients and addressing their queries. Alongside his clinical pursuits, he has been engaged in several research projects, earning publication in a national academic journal.
